While most facts about Moana 2 are currently unknown, it is scheduled to be released in theaters in November of this year.
The latest still from the upcoming animated film sequel was presented at Disney’s 2024 annual shareholders meeting. Initially, the firm planned to reintroduce Moana to fans through a TV series on Disney+. However, the plan changed when Disney announced its decision to make a second picture in February.
Moana 2 is directed by Dave Derrick Jr. and has music by Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina. Disney confirmed Dwayne Johnson’s return to the franchise as Maui’s voice actor during the entertainment company’s 2024 Annual Meeting of Shareholders. “We can’t wait to take audiences on another amazing journey with Moana and Maui, and we are excited to confirm that both Auli‘i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson are back reprising their roles,” he added. Directed by Dave Derrick Jr, Moana 2 will take fans on a new adventure with Moana, Maui and a group of unusual sailors.
