Modern medical equipment donated to Visakha Eye Hospital

In a philanthropic gesture, the 1951 batch alumnus of Andhra Medical College, Dr Rednam Venkata Krishna Rao, made a significant contribution to the Visakha Government Regional Eye Hospital. Valued at Rs 41 lakh, the donation comprises modern medical equipment aimed at bolstering patient care and facilitating the training of postgraduate students.  The donation is dedicated to the memory of Dr. In memory of Maddimishetti Amritavalli Thayaramma, an alumna of Andhra Medical College.
The highlight of the donation is the acquisition of a state-of-the-art surgical microscope, the OPMI LUMERA 300 STD with accessories, aimed at enhancing surgical precision and facilitating advanced procedures. This equipment is expected to significantly improve medical services at the hospital while also serving as a valuable resource for teaching surgical skills to postgraduate students. The official handover ceremony of this equipment took place in the presence of District Collector Dr. A. Mallikarjuna, underscoring the significance of this philanthropic endeavor.
