A five-member Constitution Bench, headed by Justice DY Chandrachud, on Monday announced its decision that the annulment of the Article 370 was carried out in tune with the Constitution, informing the country time and again that Modi took right and bold decision at an opportune time to protect the interests of the country.
All aspects of the Constitution are applicable to Kashmir too like other states and union territories, the SC Constitution Bench made it clear. There were no ill-conceived motives behind scrapping of the Article 370, the Bench remarked.
How much hue and cry was raised when Home Minister Amit Shah piloted the Bill in August of 2019? The Opposition contended that Modi government was attempting to destroy the equilibrium in the country and separating a region from the country, according to criticism mounted by the Congress then.
The Congress apprehended thousands of young men would become terrorists and the BJP government would one day feel sorry for scrapping of the Article 370, remarked former Home Minister of the Congress Chidambaram. He remarked that the decision would lead to a great calamity.
Kapil Sibal commented that India would lose Kashmir by its own ommissions and commissions. DMK supremo Stalin compared the scrapping of the Article 370 to butchering of democracy.
Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Manoj Jha responded saying that the BJP government would never be able to enforce the abrogation of the Article 370. The CPM criticised the Union government saying that the action is aimed at separating people of Kashmir from India.
The Trinamool Congress criticised that the BJP resorted to constitutionally immoral act. Janata Dal (U) and NCP were also critical of the BJP.
Surprisingly, all Opposition parties that had opposed the abrogation of the Article 370, today joined hands in the name of INDIA as part of an alliance.
It became evident how dangerous the thinking pattern of the opposition parties and some members of the intelligentsia after the apex court of the country called scrapping of the Article 370 fully constitutional and Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.
The SC decision unmasked the true faces. There was no wonder when the BJP leaders attribute the electoral success of the saffron party in MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh to Modi’s magic. Not only India the whole world appreciates Modi’s policies. US-based Morning Consultant again rated PM Modi as the most popular leader in globe.
Modi won a popularity rating of 76% followed by Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez – 66%. The popularity rating of Joe Biden, US President, head of a super power, ranked number seven with 40% rating.
Only 18% of the people oppose Modi, while Justin Trudo, President of Canada, who accused Indian intelligence agencies of neutralising Khalistani terrorist on Canada soil was opposed by 58% of the people surveyed.
Modi’s success in elections was attributed to Modi regarding nationalism and development as two eyes. Addressing party workers last week, Modi revealed the secret behind the BJP’s electoral success in MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The voters felt that BJP first and foremost would achieve development of the country. Modi called it as Atma Nirbhar success.
The electoral success is the success of the poor, down-trodden sections and the farmers. Every voter who has voted for the BJP feels that his or her vote went to the right person, Modi observed.
The people have been voting for the BJP candidates as they approve of the actions of the Central investigating agencies unearthing the corruption of the Opposition parties.
Modi says, “I regard only four castes. They are: women, youth, farmers and the poor.” Modi explained the party activists that the country would progress provided these four sections of society were empowered.
He appealed to the Opposition parties not to join hands with anti-national forces just for the sake of the power. The victory of the BJP in the three states would vote the BJP to power for the third time in succession at the Centre, Modi declared, exuding confidence.
The infrastructural development works being implemented by at an accelerated pace demonstrate Modi’s patriotism for the country. On the River Brahmaputra, the Bogibeel rail bridge was approved in 1997. After a gap of 21 years, works on the rail-cum-road bridge was grounded in 2018. Further, the Eastern Peripheral Express Way project works commenced in 2018, after 12 years of conceiving the project.
The Kollam bypass project was approved in 1975. Modi inaugurated it in 2019, 44 years after conceiving it. The Kosi Rail Mahasetu was also inaugurated by Modi rather 17 years late. The Sarayu Nahar irrigation canal was declared open after 43 years delay while the Western Peripheral Express way was inaugurated after a 12-year delay.
Under AMRUT project, 4832 urban developmentprojects were implemented. During the past nine years, railway electrification up to a route length of 37000 km was carried out. Out of 400 world class Vande Bharat trains produced, 17 have been launched by PM.
Under PM Awaas Yojna, by March 2023, over four crore housing units were sanctioned. The list of development works runs long. Because the people have been noticing the results of the development works, the Modi-led BJP has been achieving success.
