Mohanlal looks powerful in L2 Empuraan

Celebrating his 64th birthday on Tuesday (May 21), Mohanlal received a special gift from actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran: a new poster unveiling Mohanlal’s appearance in L2 Empuraan. Directed by Prithviraj himself, this sequel to the 2019 hit Lucifer once again features Mohanlal in the lead role.
The buzz for L2 Empuraan started building in November 2023 with the release of the first poster, which showed Mohanlal from behind, holding a gun. Now, the latest poster showcases Mohanlal dressed in all-black attire, striding confidently among a group of armed security personnel. Sharing the poster on X (formerly Twitter), Prithviraj extended birthday wishes to Mohanlal, affectionately referred to as Laletta, while teasing fans with the hashtag #L2E.
The sequel to Prithviraj’s directorial debut, Lucifer, was officially announced in August 2022, much to the excitement of fans who were enthralled by Mohanlal’s portrayal of the charismatic Stephen Nedumpally. However, the release date of L2 Empuraan is still under wraps.
Set to be released in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, L2 Empuraan is being produced by Lyca Productions. Earlier this year, Prithviraj announced the completion of the third schedule of his upcoming directorial, which began filming in October of the previous year.
