‘More Dharani problems if BRS wins’

TPCC President Revanth Reddy warned people that they would face more problems from the Dharani Portal if the BRS comes back to power. He said that people may not have their lands in their names if the BRS registers a hat-trick election victory.

Revanth said that there is a possibility that under BRS rule the manual land records of Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts may get burnt in an engineered accident.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Revanth said that people know the problems created by the Dharani Portal and will have to come on to the roads regarding that. He said that the media is not focusing on Dharani Portal problems and the problems the public is facing due to that.

He asked why the Congress should oppose Dharani Portal unless people come on to the roads regarding that.

He said that Telangana was created for the sake of ‘water, funds and jobs,’ but the KCR government has been giving key posts to non-locals making the creation of Telangana meaningless.

The Revenue Department lost its importance after the government deposited land records with the Collector’s office, Revanth said.

“Earlier, land records were in the hands of the village Patwari. It reached mandal offices from villages after the introduction of the mandal system. Now land records have reached Collectorates and nobody knows what will happen next. There is no guarantee that land records will be preserved in Collectorates. There are no land records even in the offices of the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA). All this happened under non-local Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar. Now, Somesh Kumar who introduced the Dharani Portal is gone but another non-local CS (A. Shanthi Kumari) has taken charge,” he said.
