EPIC Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded by HCL Founders Dr. Ajai Chowdhry and Arjun Malhotra, which focuses on hardware products, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Electronics and IT Agency (APEITA). The objective of this partnership is to strengthen the electronics ecosystem and accelerate the growth of the electronics sector in the State.
The MoU was signed by Kiran Salikireddy, CEO of APEITA, and Harish Wadhwa, Senior Vice President of EPIC Foundation. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Secretary of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and S Devarajan, Executive Director of EPIC Foundation.
Dr. Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman of EPIC Foundation, emphasized the immense potential for India to establish itself as a key player in the global electronics industry. He stressed the importance of identifying the products that are in demand within India and utilizing the country’s capabilities to manufacture them locally, thus reducing the reliance on imports. Acknowledging Andhra Pradesh’s prominent role in the IT/ITES sector and its contribution to shaping the industry in India, Dr. Chowdhry expressed confidence that the collaboration between APEITA and EPIC would play a pivotal role in developing strategies to bolster the state’s electronics industry and establish a robust ecosystem to support local manufacturing.
S Devarajan, Executive Director of EPIC Foundation, expressed excitement about partnering with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, aiming to position the state as a preferred destination for design, manufacturing, and innovation in the electronics sector in India.
Kiran Salikireddy, CEO of APEITA, highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s proactive approach in taking bold initiatives and expressed optimism about EPIC Foundation’s role in realizing the vision of self-reliance in electronics.
