In a move to enhance cleanliness, Kommareddy Pattabhiram, Chairman of the Swachh Andhra Corporation, highlighted the importance of using drone surveillance combined with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve waste management. A meeting was held at the Command Control Room in the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation’s main office on Thursday, which focused on strategies for achieving a cleaner Vijayawada.
During the meeting, Pattabhiram highlighted the crucial role of technology in maintaining cleanliness. He stressed that the use of Artificial Intelligence and drones should be incorporated into sanitation management practices to enhance their effectiveness.
Swachh Andhra Corporation Managing Director Anil Kumar Reddy discussed the integration of AI and drone management to address the current challenges in waste management. He emphasised that drone surveillance could help identify solutions to ongoing problems and improve the overall waste management system.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner HM Dhyanchandra outlined various issues related to waste management in the city. He pointed out the importance of using AI and drone surveillance to detect black spots, monitor stray dogs and cattle, prevent mosquito breeding, and address other critical concerns related to sanitation.
The meeting was attended by Swachh Andhra Corporation MC 1 Bhagyalakshmi, MC 2 Dasharath Rami Reddy, Chief Engineer Sriramachandra, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation In-Charge Chief Medical Health Officer Dr Suresh Babu, Superintending Engineer of Projects P Satyakumari, Executive Engineer in charge of Vehicles Yesupadam, Biologist Surya Kumar, and drone experts Sharathchandra and Hanu from NeoSky.
