The alignment of the proposed green field Regional Ring Road (RRR), which passes through 35 Assembly constituencies spreading over 10 districts in the State, has been uploaded into Google maps and hence the people need not entertain any doubts over its alignment, according to Medak Lok Sabha M Raghunandan Rao.
He was reviewing the implementation of the RRR with the National Highways Authority of India officials here on Wednesday.
The MP said that the Centre gave its green signal to the RRR in 2019-20, but its implementation had been delayed due to the soft-pedalling on the issue by the State government. Modi attached top priority to the RRR and also allocated funds for the project.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari wanted the RRR to be executed as a green field highway. The north phase of the RRR is classified as Phase-1 and the south phase as the Phase-2 for the purpose of execution of works.
People have misconception that with the change of government the alignment of the RRR also changes, he said exhorting the people not to give credence to such doubts.
The NHAI has allotted the task of the alignment of the RRR to a private consultancy, which gave three options to the government. The government exercised the low cost of execution, high utility option.
According to it, the first phase of the RRR commences from the outskirts of Peddapur and Girmapur in Kondapur mandal of Sangareddy district.
The government sanctioned Rs 15,2239 crore. It would require acquisition of 1,933 hectares of agricultural land and 72 hectares of forest land. To acquire the lands, the Centre proposed Rs 5,000 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, there was no meaning to intelligentsia keeping mum over the attacks being carried out on minorities in the trouble-torn Bandladesh. He was participating in the Har GharTiranga rally organsied in Gajwel on Wednesday.
On the pretext of secularism, the intelligentsia view even the minor problems that takes place in the state from magnifying glass. Surprisingly, they kept mum over the attacks taking place on Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. The society has been keenly observing their gestures, he cautioned.
