MP asks officials to ensure welfare benefits to eligble

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha member from Medak M Raghunandan Rao has said that the benefits of the welfare and developmental schemes of State and Central governments should reach eligible beneficiaries on time. It would yield good results. He asked the district officials to ensure that the schemes reach the target groups 100 per cent.
He was chairing the District Development, Coordination and Monitoring meeting held here on Wednesday.
The MP asked the officials to take steps to complete the construction of new buildings for village panchayats. So far only 80 new buildings to house village panchayat offices were constructed
Asking the officials to take steps to complete the development of cement concrete roads and other works as early as possible, the MP asked the officials to ensure that the labourers engaged by the District Rural Development  Agency are paid at least Rs 300 each per day.
Expressing concern over the excessive use of plastic glasses and sachets at small hotels and tea stalls, he asked officials to search alternative materials to the plastic. He called for providing self-employment to the jobless in Dubbaka who have been going to Dubai in search of work. The custom milling of rice was only 74% completed in the district, the MP said asking the officials to complete the balance of the custom-milling  of the rice. He suggested planting of multi-layer saplings on either side of national highways. He directed the officials to take steps for distribution of completed 2 BHK houses among the beneficiaries.
Seasonal diseases are the rise in the district, therefore he wanted the Medical and Health department to rise to the occasion and provide treatment on time to patients.
He asked the officials to sensitise the farmers on cultivation of crops like avocado and dragon fruit.
MLC Yadava Reddy asked the officials not to plant  saplings under electric wires. He asked the officials to plant fruit-bearing trees in forests to prevent monkeys raiding villages and give publicity to Sadaram camps in villages.
Collector Manu Chaudhary, Additional Collectors Garima Agarwal and Srinivas Reddy, DMHO, Municipal Commissioner and others took part in the meeting.
