MP Avinash Reddy consoles family of murdered girl

Must read

Local MP YS Avinash Reddy consoled the parents of the 16-year-old girl Dastagiramma, who was set on fire by her boyfriend and succumbed to injuries on Sunday.
The MP went to the house in Badvel on Monday, accompanied by MLA Dr Dasari Sudha and MLC DC Govinda Reddy. They consoled the parents of the deceased girl and assured them of extending all support.
Later, talking to the media, Avinash Reddy described the killing of the teenage girl by setting ablaze as an inhuman act and the parents were grieving inconsolably. It is sad to note that the girl who was topper in the school in 10th class was brutally murdered, he lamented.
He recalled that when such a heinous crime incident took place in 2021 in Guntur when the YSRCP was in power, the investigation was completed and the accused was convicted within a short time.
“As many as 74 such heinous crime incidents have taken place during the last four months but no stringent action was taken by the government to curb the crimes. I doubt whether a law and order situation exists in AP,” MP Avinash Reddy slammed.
Referring to the comments of Home Minister Anitha that security could not be provided to all, he took strong exception to her comments.
“If the Disha Act was implemented, the police could reach the victim within minutes and save,” the MP felt, adding that the government has done away with the Disha Act.  The government is indifferent to protecting the girls and women in the State, he criticised.
