MP Krishnaiah urges PM to stop coal auctions

Must read

Member of the Parliament (Rajya Sabha) R Krishnaiah called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately stop the auctioning of 60 coal mines in the country.
Krishnaiah wrote a letter to the Prime Minister on Sunday. He mentioned that this matter will be discussed in Parliament. He requested that the mines be handed over to the Singareni organisation and called on all political parties and Members of Parliament to intervene and stop the auction of coal mines. He emphasised the need to pressure the Central government to halt the auctions.
Krishnaiah argued that auctioning coal mines in phases is effectively giving a legal licence to loot the nation’s wealth by industrialists. He claimed that the bidding process is part of a conspiracy towards privatisation. With the privatisation of public sector institutions, constitutional reservations for SC, ST, and BC communities will be eliminated, resulting in the loss of lakhs of jobs for these groups. Krishnaiah expressed anger over the removal of reservations and reiterated that this move is part of a broader conspiracy to hand over the nation’s wealth to big corporations.
