Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) is working towards developing 295 villages within his constituency and ensuring that every family has an entrepreneur. On Sunday, a special meeting was held with the representatives from the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) and NTR District Collector Dr G Lakshmisha.
During the meeting, the MP outlined his plans for the development of rural areas, aiming to transform these villages into developed panchayats. He stressed the need for comprehensive development of the 295 villages within the next two years and requested the cooperation of the Collector in executing the development programmes. In response, Collector Lakshmisha assured her support for the upcoming initiatives.
Representatives from NIRD shared plans to implement a pilot project in the Tiruvuru, Mylavaram, Jaggayyapet and Nandigama constituencies. Six villages will be selected from each constituency to form a cluster and a total of 32 participants will undergo training at NIRD in Hyderabad. The training programme will begin on February 3 and go on for 15 days. NIRD representatives also expressed their commitment to support rural development in NTR district.
As part of the vision for a developed panchayat, Kesineni Sivanath discussed various aspects of village transformation, including creating energy-efficient villages, healthy villages, child welfare villages, women empowerment villages, women-friendly villages and poverty-free villages. The programme will also focus on imparting training related to self-employment. NIRD will offer guidance on marketing, branding, and product development for those trained, with the MP facilitating collaborations with large companies for support.
