Outlines development blueprint requiring 5,000 acres of land
In a decisive move to generate employment opportunities and fulfil election promises, Anakapalli MP C M Ramesh has announced the creation of industrial clusters in the Madugula and Chodavaram constituencies. Speaking to the media following a meeting with BJP workers, Ramesh outlined an ambitious development blueprint requiring approximately 5,000 acres of land for these clusters.
The MP emphasised the importance of collaboration with key government figures, including the Assembly Speaker, Home Minister, and local MLAs, to ensure the successful implementation of these projects. Highlighting major initiatives, Ramesh revealed plans for the construction of a six-lane national highway from Anakapalli to Rajamahendravaram. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has committed to incorporating essential underpasses and overpasses along this route. The tendering process for this project is set to begin soon, with construction to follow promptly. Additionally, the national highway from Anakapalli to Lankelapalem will undergo significant development.
Ramesh also announced comprehensive upgrades to the region’s transportation infrastructure, including the construction of flyovers and a metro system linking Anakapalli to Bheemunipatnam and Bhogapuram. Furthermore, funds have been allocated for the development of the Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar road.
In a significant boost to the local economy, representatives from BPCL Petrochemical have expressed interest in establishing a new industry in the district, requiring 5,000 to 6,000 acres of coastal land. Ramesh plans to discuss land acquisition with the District Collector in areas such as Elamanchili, Anakapalli, and Payakaraopeta. Additionally, consultations with farmers and local representatives will be conducted to explore the conversion of closed sugarcane factories into ethanol production facilities.
Addressing pressing concerns over drinking water, Ramesh assured that mineral water plants will be established in 1,500 villages across the district. This initiative aims to ensure safe drinking water for all residents, with funding sourced from CSR contributions by GAIL, NTPC, and Hinduja.
BJP State secretary K Surendra Mohan, TDP district president B Tathaiah Babu, former TDP MLC Buddha Naga Jagadeesh, and leaders Nageswara Rao and Srirama Murthy were present.
