The Munugode constituency is on the cusp of ‘big leap forward’ as MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy announced plans to upgrade it to a municipality. During a visit to various areas in Munugode on Sunday, he inspected the TSRTC bus station, nearby market areas, the police station, and the Scheduled Castes Boys’ hostel, emphasising the need for all government offices and educational institutions to be in one location.
The MLA proposed the establishment of an integrated market for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian products as well as the construction of necessary government office buildings to meet future demands. He discussed the vision for a consolidated campus that includes degree, intermediate, and polytechnic colleges, ensuring all educational facilities are situated together.
Rajgopal Reddy said he is committed to developing Munugode into a well-planned town for future generations. He assured that proposals to upgrade the constituency to a municipality will be submitted to the government.
As part of his visit, he interacted with women at the Munugode bus station, inquiring about their daily commuting experiences. A woman pointed out that those traveling for free were occupying the seats, leaving ticket holders without a place to sit.
In a related initiative, the MLA has decided to grant Rs 10 lakh in development funds to villages that successfully. He was happy that belt shops were shut. Women in the community have expressed their gratitude for this decision, stating that the closure of these shops has allowed them to work without the distraction.
The MLA’s efforts have spurred the formation of committees in various villages to oversee the closure of liquor belt shops with community members actively participating in these initiatives. In recognition of their efforts, the committee members from Ravi Gudem village were honored at the MLA’s personal camp office, where he announced the immediate release of funds for their development.
