In a tragic incident reminding one of the shocking Disha case which sent shockwaves throughout the nation, a gruesome murder has occurred at the Sai Enclave in Shamshabad.
An unidentified woman believed to be aged around 35 and 36, was brutally murdered and set on fire by unknown assailants who had doused her body with petrol. Local residents found the charred remains of the woman and alerted the police.
The police shifted the woman’s body from Shamshabad to the Osmania GH mortuary for post-mortem. The identity of the woman has not been ascertained.
During preliminary investigations, the police discovered a matchbox near the burnt body hinting at the possible use of fire to destroy evidence. Both the dog squad, as well as clue teams, have been deployed to gather evidence from the crime scene.
Shamshabad ACP Ramachandra Rao provided insights into the investigation saying that the victim was identified as a female. The authorities are currently exploring whether she was murdered at the crime scene or whether her body was transported to the place after the murder. Four dedicated investigative teams have been set up to uncover the truth.
Examination of CCTV footage is an important part of the probe and preliminary findings suggest that the woman’s body was transported on a two-wheeler.
Shedding light on the situation, ACP Ramachandra said that lonely areas near the Outer Ring Road (ORR) are being used to commit crimes. The police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the culprits are apprehended.
