Keerthy Suresh on Nayakudu

Mamannan is a political action thriller starring Stalin, Vadivelu, Fahad Faasil, and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles. Directed by Mari Selvaraj, the film was a sensational success in Tamil. Leading distribution houses Asian Multiplex Pvt. Ltd. and Suresh Productions released this film in Telugu with the title Nayakudu on Friday.
The movie has received a positive response since its release, and actress Keerthy Suresh is elated that the movie is liked by the Telugu audience as well.
“Mamannan was a huge success in Tamil. There is a common emotion in this movie. It was a great joy to connect with that emotion in the Telugu audience as well,” said the actress.
In any Mari Selvaraj film, the heroine plays a key role. Even in this movie, Keerthy has an important role to play. “Every heroine is interested in working under the direction of Mari Selvaraj. Girls are very important in his story. I felt very excited when he told the story, but he made a film with four times more impact than what he said. I have not done a look test for this film. Director Mari has brilliantly written a simple and strong character. She is an ordinary girl who usually wears jeans, a shirt, and shoes. An hour before the shooting, the look test was done. If you notice, Udayanidhi’s and mine have the same dress style. If I don’t have a shirt, I used to ask him if I could borrow his shirt,” laughed Keerthy.
The movie has music by AR Rahman, and Keerthy feels music is the special attraction in the film. “The audience is enjoying the music a lot in the theatre. All the songs are getting excellent responses. The song in the background of communism, especially, is chilling.” On the work front, he has Siren, Raghu Tatha, and Revolver Rita in Tamil and Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar in Telugu.
