Former MLA of Malkajgiri Mynampalli Hanumanta Rao has alleged that former minister T Harish Rao is a man of words but not deeds. He was taking part in a massive car and bike rally held here on Tuesday in connection with Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, he said that the Congress government, as promised in its election manifesto, implemented Rs 2 lakh crop loan waiver benefiting the farmers and hence Harish Rao, keeping up his promise, should resign from the MLA post.
Re-lection of Harish Rao in Siddipeta was ruled out, he said adding that he would contest as Congress candidate in Siddipet in case of Harish Rao resignation. In case of his defeat, he said, he would quit politics, he claimed.
Hanumanta Rao exuded confidence that the Congress will implement all of its electoral promises.
To create disturbance among the farmers, the BRS party has been indulging in false propaganda on the loan waiver, he alleged.
In an indirect reference to former CM KCR and his nephew KTR, he alleged that the uncle and nephew amassed lakhs of crores during their 10-year stint in power.
Earlier, Hanumanta Rao reached here from Hyderabad in a huge convoy. He along with the local Congress activists and leaders took part in a huge bike and car rally.
He later addressed a public meeting at old bus stand.
District Congress president and Gajwel former MLA Tumkunta Narsareddy, Medak MLA Mynampalli Rohit, former municipal chairman of Gajwel Gadipalli Bhaskar and others took part in the incident.
