Nag Ashwin to Direct Alia Bhatt Before Kalki 2898 AD Sequel

Director Nag Ashwin, who rose to prominence with just three films, is gearing up for the sequel to his 2024 sci-fi blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD. The film ended on a note that set up the next chapter, but production for the sequel has been delayed due to lead actor Prabhas’ packed schedule.
Prabhas, who played the titular role in Kalki 2898 AD, is set to begin filming Spirit in May. Additionally, he will be occupied with Hanu Raghavapudi’s Fuaji until mid-2026. As a result, the sequel’s production has been pushed back. While waiting for Prabhas availability, Nag Ashwin has reportedly pitched a new script to Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, who has given her nod to the project. Sources suggest that the filmmaker has nearly completed the final draft and may start production soon. If all goes as planned, this project will be completed before Kalki 2898 AD’s sequel goes on floors.
