Nagarjuna to collaborate with Tamil director Ra Karthik for a story-driven film

Akkineni Nagarjuna is currently juggling multiple projects, keeping himself busy with exciting ventures. The veteran actor is actively working on Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula, where Tamil star Dhanush plays the lead alongside Rashmika Mandanna. Additionally, Nagarjuna has a significant role in Coolie, starring Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
While these two films are in production, sources reveal that Nagarjuna is also keen on doing a content-driven film. According to an insider, Tamil director Ra Karthik recently pitched a story to the actor, which he found intriguing. However, Nagarjuna has requested a few changes before giving it the final nod.
Ra Karthik made his directorial debut with the Tamil film Nitham Oru Vaanam in 2022. Now, he is in discussions with Nagarjuna for his next project. “Although several filmmakers have approached Nagarjuna with commercial, entertainment-heavy scripts, he is more interested in a narrative-driven film with strong content. That’s why he has asked Karthik for a few modifications,” the source shared.
If everything falls into place, the film is expected to go on floors in the coming months. Furthermore, Nagarjuna is reportedly planning to produce the project under his own banner, Annapurna Studios. The team is also looking to cast predominantly Telugu actors for the film.
