Naidu betrayed public trust: Bhumana

Must read

YSR Congress Party senior leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy accused Telugu Desam Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu of betraying the trust of the people of Andhra Pradesh and breaking his election promises.
Addressing the media, Karunakar Reddy criticised Naidu for his contradictory statements regarding his “Super Six” promises, which he claimed would only be implemented after achieving a 15% growth rate. He highlighted Naidu’s pre-election pledges, such as Rs 15,000 under “Thalli ki Vandanam,” Rs 20,000 for farmers, Rs 3,000 as unemployment allowance, and Rs 18,000 for women above 50 years, all of which remained unfulfilled due to claims of a financial crisis.
Karunakar Reddy accused Naidu of inflating state debt figures, alleging that Naidu misled the public with varying claims of debt ranging from Rs 14 lakh crore to Rs 10 lakh crore. He contrasted this with the governance of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has focused on welfare and development despite borrowing only Rs 2.3 lakh crore.
Calling Naidu the “Buddha of Lies,” Karunakar Reddy alleged that schemes like “Thalli ki Vandanam” and “Annadata Sukhibhava” became burdens rather than offering relief. He also criticised Naidu for exploiting religious sentiments for political gains.
Highlighting Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership during the pandemic, Karunakar Reddy claimed that it served as a model for the country, despite opposition propaganda. He accused Naidu’s government of cutting pensions for over 5 lakh beneficiaries, increasing electricity tariffs by Rs 19,000 crore, and encouraging liquor sales, resulting in Andhra Pradesh being overrun by belt shops and illegal bars, leaving citizens as victims of alcohol addiction.
Karunakar Reddy emphasised the growing public discontent with Naidu’s governance and urged people to reject deceptive politics in favour of welfare-oriented leadership.
