AP State Government Advisor (Public Affairs), Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, has strongly criticised TDP president Chandrababu Naidu for creating hurdles in the development of the R5 zone. During his visit to Venkatapalem in Amaravati on Saturday, Sajjala inspected the preparations for the upcoming launch of the mega house construction programme by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on July 24.

Addressing the media, Sajjala praised CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s commitment to fulfilling the long-standing desire of underprivileged women to own houses. He said that the State government was taking significant strides to provide houses with all essential amenities, akin to private layouts, ensuring the creation of a whopping Rs 10,000 crore asset for the impoverished population in Amaravati.

Dismissing the idea that constructing houses for the poor in Amaravati was a crime, Sajjala pointed out that the CRDA Act clearly mandated allocating five percent of the acquired land to the economically weaker sections. He emphasized that despite the center’s reluctance to bear the construction costs, the state government remained steadfast in its resolve to finance the entire project.

Highlighting CM Jagan’s dedication to uplift the disadvantaged communities, Sajjala expressed disapproval towards the previous TDP government’s stance, led by Chandrababu Naidu. He accused Naidu of harbouring a bias against certain communities and perpetuating the idea that only the rich deserved to reside in Amaravati, leaving the poor marginalised.

Sajjala further predicted that Chandrababu Naidu would be taken aback by witnessing the successful construction of houses for the underprivileged in Amaravati, bringing them closer to realizing their dreams of becoming homeowners. This, Sajjala asserted, was CM Jagan’s vision of empowering the economically weaker sections and enabling their path to prosperity.

The government advisor highlighted the obstructionist approach of TDP leaders who approached the courts and filed cases against the government, hindering the allocation of house sites and construction in the R5 zone of Amaravati.

Sajjala alleged that certain TDP leaders acquired lands in Amaravati under the guise of being farmers, perpetuating Chandrababu’s conspiracy to deprive the poor of their right to own houses in the region.

The launch of the mega house construction programme by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday, July 24, is expected to mark a significant milestone in the realisation of affordable housing for the underprivileged in Amaravati. With the government’s unwavering commitment and proactive approach, the future of the impoverished population in the R5 zone looks promising, inching them closer to realising their dreams of owning a home.
