Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has underlined the importance of electoral victories for stable governance during a teleconference with NDA coalition ministers, MPs, and MLAs concerning the upcoming MLC elections. He stated that elections would be held in the combined Godavari and Krishna-Guntur graduates’ constituencies, as well as in the Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam teachers’ constituency. The CM urged the NDA parties to organize coordination meetings to enhance their candidates’ chances of success in the elections.
The coalition has nominated P Rajasekhar and A Rajendra Prasad as its candidates. The election notification will be issued on February 3, and the elections will take place on February 27, with counting set for March 3.
The CM emphasized the need for efforts to secure a large majority by engaging with every graduate voter, noting that the educated community largely supports the coalition. However, he cautioned leaders not to become complacent with this support. He urged that coordination meetings with NDA allies be held, and that work be done closely with cluster, unit, and booth in-charges, as well as with leaders from the Janasena and BJP committees.
“These elections are crucial for establishing a stable government,” the CM remarked. He added that only through electoral success can the administration gain further popularity and win the support of the people. First-time elected MLAs and new political entrants were urged to work with sincerity. He stressed the importance of effectively communicating the coalition government’s development and welfare programmes to the public. Over the past seven months since the government’s formation, the coalition has overcome challenges and is progressing towards effective governance, providing stable administration without burdening the people.
CM Naidu clarified that the government is not promising overnight changes but is working diligently to fix derailed systems. He highlighted the support from the central government for the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, the capital city of Amaravati, Polavaram funding, railway zones, and other development and welfare initiatives. The “Job First” policy has led to the introduction of new industrial policies, and the coalition government has attracted investments worth nearly Rs 7 lakh crore, which will create 4,10,125 job opportunities for the youth.
The CM further announced that the notification for 16,347 teacher posts (DSSC) will be issued soon. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of leaders to inform the public about these initiatives. Similar to the general elections, the three-party leaders must continue to collaborate in a coordinated manner for all upcoming elections. CM Naidu reiterated the need for a well-structured plan to ensure victory in every election. The candidates also reported that, with the exception of UTF, the teaching community is supporting the coalition.
