YSRCP Chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has harshly criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of indulging in massive sand loot in Andhra Pradesh, which has crippled the State’s revenue and led to rising costs for the people.
In a post on social media platform ‘X’, YS Jagan stated that Naidu’s government, instead of delivering on promises of free sand and transparency, has actually doubled sand prices compared to the YSRCP regime, causing further hardship for citizens. He likened Naidu to a thief who distracts the public while looting from behind. Jagan noted that during his tenure, the state earned revenue from sand sales, but that income has vanished under Naidu’s leadership. He challenged Naidu to show any instance of free sand in the state, accusing him of establishing a sand mafia that exploits ordinary people while his associates profit.
YS Jagan revealed that, following the election results, TDP leaders quickly targeted the state’s sand supplies, with almost half of the 80 lakh tonnes stored by the YSRCP government disappearing within a month of Naidu taking office. He stressed that this organised looting was reminiscent of the corruption seen during Naidu’s earlier tenure. Jagan highlighted the transparent sand policy of the YSRCP government, which kept prices affordable while generating significant revenue for the state.
