In the wake of a complaint filed by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and his aides to the Election Commission to stall the disbursement of benefits under six welfare schemes in Andhra Pradesh, YSRCP’s ‘Star Campaigners’, all of who are commoners, came down heavily on Chandrababu for obstructing the delivery of welfare scheme funds to the tune of Rs 14,000 crore. During a press conference that took place at the Central Party Office in Tadepalli, these ‘Star Campaigners’ reiterated that Chandrababu and his party are anti-poor and anti-women.
They also helped draw a timeline of how Chandrababu and Co were trying all tricks in the book to inconvenience and trouble the poor, widows, youth, disabled as well as the elderly in the State as they were desperate to come to power again. These Star Campaigners also sent out a warning to the public to be wary of the fact that TDP helmed by Chandrababu would stop all YSRCP welfare schemes if at all they come to power.
The Star Campaigners spoke about the initiatives introduced by CM Jagan and how those initiatives transformed their lives. “The YSRCP government’s pro-poor policies have significantly enhanced our economic security, a feat unparalleled in history. Under Jagan we got a taste of a good, inclusive government where delivery of services was ensured at our doorstep. However, when we recall Chandrababu’s tenure, all that we can think of is discrimination, corruption and hardship for women, farmers, and students,” they collectively mentioned.
Janardhan Reddy, YSRCP ‘Star Campaigner’ from Kurnool district, highlighted the profound impact of CM Jagan’s governance on their lives. He said, “Jagananna lives by his words ‘Kulam Chudam, Matam Chudam, Rajakeeyalu Cheyyam’ which translates to good governance without any discrimination. Our CM supported the family of BJP leader Ranga Gowd hailing from our constituency by settling all his medical bills even after he passed away. It was Jagan, who provided financial assistance and ensured that his family’s debts were all cleared. That’s the kind of a human being that we are talking about!”
He added, “Jagananna might not remember the help he has provided me and my family, but I clearly remember how he alone has transformed our lives. In return, today, I am the happiest being his ‘Star Campaigner’. I am proud to be one among these 90 lakh common campaigners. We are with Jagananna and we vow to make him win big!”
Other star campaigners including Anantha Lakshmi from Rajahmundry, Gangu Kalyani from Srikakulam, Syed Anwar from Nellore, Challa Eshwari from NTR district, Sivaprasad from Krishna district and Jagadish Kattari from Anakapalle too were present at the press conference to slam Naidu for his wicked actions and to endorse Jagan’s good governance.
