Jupudi Prabhakar, AP Government Advisor (Social Justice), has called for an apology from Chandrababu Naidu for his comments against Dalits. Speaking to reporters, Prabhakar accused Naidu and his son Lokesh of having “anti-Dalit DNA” and described Naidu as a “demon in human form”. He claimed that the people of Andhra Pradesh had rejected Naidu in the 2019 elections, and alleged that Naidu had been conspiring to remove YS Jagan Mohan Reddy from power ever since he became Chief Minister.
Prabhakar cited the results of the 2019 elections, noting that the TDP had lost in 28 out of 29 SC reserved constituencies and had failed to win any of the 7 ST constituencies. He credited the YSRCP’s overwhelming victory in SC and ST constituencies to the support of Dalits and Tribals.
Prabhakar also accused the TDP of discrimination against Dalits in the recent Yerragondapalem incident and criticized what he called the “yellow media” for allegedly misrepresenting the situation.
He vowed that Dalits would protest against Naidu wherever he went until he and Lokesh apologised to the community. Prabhakar urged Naidu to change his attitude towards Dalits and highlighted the YSRCP government’s efforts to support marginalised communities, including the distribution of Rs 2.80 lakh crores through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for SC, ST, BC, and Minorities.
Prabhakar dismissed Naidu’s chances in the upcoming 2024 elections, claiming that the former Chief Minister would not win in any Dalit constituency. He also accused Naidu of using false stories to distract from the Vivekananda Reddy murder case and of having an “evil way of thinking towards the poor”.
