Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for Education, Electronics, and IT Nara Lokesh have welcomed investments in renewable energy projects under the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy-2024. Delegations from SAEL Ltd. and leading financial institutions like Norfund, NDB Bank, and Société Générale met them on Saturday to discuss opportunities and the regulatory framework for clean energy investments in the state.
Taking to the social media platform ‘X’, CM Chandrababu expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with SAEL Ltd. on waste-to-energy projects. “We welcome investments in AP to support India’s energy transition. SAEL introduced their innovative waste-to-energy technology, which can utilise agricultural waste and boost farmer incomes,” he posted.
Minister Lokesh highlighted SAEL’s 1,200 MW investment in Andhra Pradesh, set to be developed in two phases. “Work on the 600 MW first phase will begin soon under our attractive ICE policy,” he shared on ‘X’. Lokesh also discussed facilitating further investments with representatives of Norfund, NDB Bank, and Société Générale, emphasising AP’s investor-friendly climate.
These developments reflect Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to renewable energy and its role in driving sustainable economic growth.
