Rajya Sabha Member V Vijayasai Reddy, a member of Rajya Sabha and national general secretary of YSRCP, accused TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu of being a patron of hawala operators in the country. Reddy claimed that Naidu had the ability to manipulate the system to secure the release of individuals involved in hawala transactions.
Reddy highlighted that in a notice issued by the Income Tax department regarding the payment of Rs 118 crore in commission from Shapoorji Pallonji, the names listed as representatives of shell companies were allegedly hawala operators. He further asserted that Chandrababu Naidu did not fear such I-T notices, as he could obtain a stay order within just one day. He suggested that Chandrababu Naidu remained silent to avoid drawing more attention to himself, fearing that increased scrutiny could reveal additional irregularities.
Vijayasai Reddy expressed his disappointment with Chandrababu Naidu and his associates, suggesting that instead of using their political power for the betterment of society, they seemed focused on exploiting it for personal gain. Reddy emphasized that Chandrababu’s approach appeared to be centered on maintaining power to protect ill-gotten gains.
