Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and former chief minister N Chandrababu
Naidu, along with Jana Sena Chief K Pawan Kalyan, raised concerns with the Central Election Commission (CEC) officials regarding irregularities in the preparation of the voters’ list. The leaders attended a review meeting in Vijayawada on Tuesday, where Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, along with commissioners Arun Goel and Anup Chandra Panda, discussed various election-related issues with leaders from different political parties.
During the meeting, Naidu and Pawan Kalyan filed a formal complaint with the CEC, highlighting discrepancies in the voter list preparation in Andhra Pradesh. Addressing the media afterwards, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the irregularities observed in the process.

The leaders also brought to the CEC’s attention the alleged registration of false cases against political party leaders. Naidu disclosed that they informed the CEC about the imprisonment of over 200 individuals in connection with the Punganur violence incident, with a staggering 7000 cases registered against leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)
and Jana Sena Party (JSP). They emphasized the need to address the perceived anarchy perpetuated by the ruling party.
Naidu further conveyed their request to the CEC for the appointment of experienced officials to oversee the elections in Andhra Pradesh. He raised objections to the appointment of more than 2,600 female police officers as Booth Level Officials and
urged the deployment of central forces and officials for a fair and secure electoral
process.
“We have highlighted the ruling party’s alleged use of the police to intimidate leaders and activists from other parties,” stated Naidu. He added that the CEC has assured them of taking necessary measures to protect democracy and ensure the peaceful conduct of elections.
Pawan Kalyan echoed their concerns, specifying that they had reported to the CEC about deletions and additions of votes in a flawed manner during their complaint. The leaders expressed hope that the CEC’s intervention would address these issues and ensure the integrity of the electoral process in Andhra Pradesh.
