Naidu, PK too ‘stoned’

Must read

As tensions rose following the alleged attack on Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy with stones, resulting in an injury to him and MLA Vallampalli Srinivas on Saturday night, similar incidents unfolded during election gatherings of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and JSP chief K Pawan Kalyan in Visakhapatnam and Tenali respectively on Sunday.
Reports suggest that during N Chandrababu Naidu’s address at the ‘Prajagalam’ election meeting in Gajuwaka, a stone was allegedly thrown from behind. However, Naidu remained unharmed as the stone failed to reach him. Alert security personnel swiftly responded, providing additional protection to Naidu.
Similarly, in Tenali, during an election meeting addressed by Pawan Kalyan, a stone was reportedly hurled towards him. Although the stone fell some distance away from Pawan Kalyan, JSP activists apprehended the person responsible and handed him over to the police.
Undeterred by the incidents, Naidu continued his speech, recalling past instances where he faced danger, such as claymore mine blasts on his way to Tirumala.
He condemned the stone-throwing incident against Chief Minister Jagan Reddy and questioned the actions of the intelligence police.
In Tenali, Pawan Kalyan predicted Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s downfall, urging people to support alliance candidates. He criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy’s perceived arrogance and expressed confidence in his eventual defeat.
Reflecting on his own past defeats, Pawan Kalyan emphasised his commitment to challenging the current regime and promised initiatives to support skilled individuals, particularly women. He also acknowledged the support of actor Chiranjeevi, who donated Rs 5 crore to assist tenant farmers through JSP initiatives.
