Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his confidence in the ‘Maha Sakthi’ scheme announced by the TDP, stating that it will bring about significant changes in the lives of women across the State. Naidu mentioned that the welfare schemes announced at Mahanadu under the banner of ‘Bhavisyathuku Guarantee’ will be brought closer to the people, and a special campaign focusing on women’s welfare programmes will be unveiled on July 14.

During a conversation with media persons at the TDP headquarters on Wednesday, Chandrababu Naidu reiterated that upon returning to power, the party will overcome all challenges and work towards creating assets for the welfare of the people. He criticised Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his government, accusing them of making ill-advised decisions that have had a detrimental impact on projects like Polavaram and Amaravati.

Naidu emphasised that Andhra Pradesh should come together for its welfare and progress, drawing a parallel to how Tamil Nadu united for Jallikattu. He assured that the State is his top priority and he will work towards restoring its development. Naidu also expressed concerns over the gathering of personal information by government-appointed volunteers and stated that such surveillance of the public will not be tolerated.

Door-to-door campaigns will be a part of the TDP’s program, where Naidu plans to explain in detail the outcomes of each welfare scheme and how they will improve the lives of different sections of the population. He emphasized the potential for considerably reducing power charges by effectively utilising solar power, mentioning that similar plans were successfully implemented during his tenure.

Referring to the development of Hyderabad during his time as Chief Minister, Naidu expressed the desire for Andhra Pradesh to have a capital that attracts investments and generates employment, with Amaravati conceived as such a center. He voiced concerns about the high land costs in the state compared to Telangana, where even remote areas cost Rs 50 crore per acre. Naidu also expressed doubts about when the Supreme Court would deliver its final judgment on the capital case, as it has been adjourned until December.
