Naidu pushes ahead with Amaravati infra plans

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu chaired the 49th meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) at his residence in Undavalli on Friday, where several key infrastructure and urban development projects for Amaravati were approved.

A major decision was the approval to invite tenders worth Rs 1,052 crore for infrastructure development across 1,450 acres in the Amaravati Government Complex area. The CRDA also cleared a proposal to connect the Seed Access Road to the National Highway, with tenders worth Rs 682 crore to be invited.

Urban Development Minister Ponguru Narayana, briefing the media, said the government was consulting experts on the design and development of the Green and Blue City concept in Amaravati.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to building a sustainable and modern capital.

The Minister also referred to his recent visit to Uttar Pradesh, where he and his team studied river bund construction methods in Lucknow and inspected solid waste management plants. Officials from Uttar Pradesh are expected to visit Andhra Pradesh soon to study systems here.

The decisions mark a major step towards reviving and accelerating the Amaravati capital project under the leadership of Chief Minister Naidu.
