State Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh made surprise visits to Nehru Bazar Municipal Elementary School and the Nehru Bazar Regional Library in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. His visit led to key decisions aimed at improving education and library services.
At the schools, Minister Lokesh spent time in the Anganwadi children’s room, interacting with young students. He playfully asked them about their ABCs and rhymes, and the children responded happily by singing and playing.
Lokesh stressed the importance of good nutrition for the students, urging teachers to provide eggs and nutritious meals to support the children’s growth. Before leaving, he distributed chocolates and took a group photo with the smiling students.
Earlier, Lokesh visited the Nehru Bazar Regional Library and was disappointed to find it closed at 9:45 a.m., despite its scheduled opening time of 8 a.m.
He called this unacceptable and announced measures to improve the library system, including appointing a special officer to monitor public libraries across the state.
Lokesh highlighted the crucial role libraries play in helping students and job seekers prepare for competitive exams, emphasising the need to strengthen this system for better learning opportunities.
