NTR’s brother-in-law, Narne Nithin, is gearing up for the release of his long-delayed film Sri Sri Rajavaru, which is finally set to hit the screens on June 6. Directed by Satish Vegesna of Sathamanam Bhavathi fame, the film stars Sampada as the female lead. Interestingly, this project was meant to be Nithin’s debut nearly three years ago but faced multiple delays. A pre-release event was held in Hyderabad, but the lead actor was notably absent. According to a source, Nithin deliberately skipped the event and has shown no interest in promoting the film.
Sri Sri Rajavaru was initially planned for a grand release, but in the meantime, Nithin gained popularity with hit films like Mad, its sequel Mad Square and another successful venture, Aay. The source claimed, “The actor is not showing interest in releasing his debut film as it may affect his current success streak. That’s why he was absent from both the event and the promotions.”
It is also believed that Nithin requested the producers to shelve the film altogether. However, with significant investment already made, the producers decided to proceed. “They approached Nithin because he is NTR’s brother-in-law and they expected support. Unfortunately, he is not cooperating,” added the source. Director Satish Vegesna, a National Award winner, has worked on the film for nearly three years and hopes to move on to his next project after this release. Even though this is technically Nithin’s debut, the makers are presenting it as his fourth film to capitalize on his recent popularity.
Despite repeated requests, Nithin reportedly claimed he was out of station and refused to participate in video promotions. Now, the promotional activities will proceed with the director, producer, lead actress, and other cast members. Sri Sri Rajavaru is a remake of the 2018 Malayalam film Theevandi.
