NTR District Collector S Dilli Rao has been honoured with a prestigious National Award for his exceptional efforts in curbing drug usage and illegal transportation. This recognition comes as a result of his collaborative efforts with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Dr. Rao has demonstrated a strong commitment to Child Rights Protection, spearheading effective action plans to combat these pressing issues within the district.
His dedication has earned him commendation at the national level, culminating in his selection for the National Award. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at Vignan Bhavan, Rajpath Area, New Delhi, on June 30. In addition to the award itself, Dr Rao will receive an appreciation letter from the authorities at NCPCR.
Under his leadership, Dr. Dilli Rao has fostered extensive partnerships with voluntary organizations, government departments, and educational institutions to tackle drug abuse and illegal trafficking. Furthermore, he has actively promoted awareness campaigns against sexual harassment, eradication of child labour, and prevention of child marriages across Vijayawada and the wider district. His initiatives have included numerous community engagements and proactive measures.
Regular review meetings conducted by Dr. Rao, in collaboration with law enforcement, Women and Child Welfare departments, Child Line, NCC, NSS, and other NGOs, have been instrumental in addressing the root causes of drug abuse and enhancing public awareness. His efforts have not only garnered national recognition but also underscored his unwavering commitment to societal well-being. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has personally informed Dr Dilli Rao about his selection for this esteemed accolade, acknowledging his pivotal role in safeguarding the rights and welfare of children at a critical juncture.
