‘NDA candidates coming to city like tourists’

Must read

In a fiery campaign speech, Kesineni Srinivas, the incumbent MP and YSRCP candidate for Vijayawada Lok Sabha likened his opponents from the TDP-JSP-BJP coalition to transient tourists in the city. “They breeze in for elections and disappear thereafter, showing little commitment to Vijayawada’s development,” he remarked, confidently predicting their imminent defeat.
Joined by fellow YSRCP candidates Shaik Asif and Velampalli Srinivas, contesting for Vijayawada West and Central respectively, Kesineni Nani engaged in vibrant campaigning across their constituencies on Monday. Engaging with constituents, they highlighted the government’s strides in development and welfare.
Aiming for BJP’s Vijayawada-West candidate, Sujana Chowdary, Kesineni Nani said his 12-year tenure in the Rajya Sabha and three years as a Central Minister, asserting negligible benefits for the city and state. Accusing Chowdary of acting as a middleman for Chandrababu Naidu’s business interests, he minced no words.
Expressing confidence in his party’s electoral prospects, Kesineni Nani predicted victories for all YSRCP candidates in his constituency. With a touch of scorn, he suggested that defeated NDA candidates would retreat to Hyderabad post-election. Reflecting on his tenure, he claimed never to have solicited even a cup of tea.
Turning familial ties into political ammunition, Kesineni Nani launched a scathing attack on his brother, Kesineni Chinni, the TDP’s Vijayawada MP hopeful. Accusing him of deception, Nani highlighted allegations of duping underprivileged individuals through his construction firm, resulting in hefty penalties from Telangana RERA.
The event saw the presence of notable figures like AP Jain Corporation Chairman Manoj Kothari, among others.
