Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary V Srinivasa Rao has commented that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has tried to show that it had 38 parties’ support, ahead of the general elections. For that, the alliance has created a commotion by conducting a meeting on an approach to defeat opposition parties in the next election, at a private hotel in New Delhi recently, he alleged.

On the other hand, the CPM state committee welcomed the opposition Indian National Developmental, Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), he said. CPM state secretary Srinivasa Rao addressed the media at the Makineni Basavapunnaiah Vignana Kendram (MBVK) in Vijayawada on Wednesday.

Surprisingly, out of the total 38 political parties, 24 parties have no representation in the Parliament and even14 parties have no recognition even from the election commission, he said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to say that the NDA is the only alternative, he said. But, the illusion about Modi among the people was removed, and the central government is giving away entire country assets to Adani and Ambani and this was understood by people, he added.

Meanwhile, he said though the bifurcation of the combined Andhra Pradesh completed 10 years, the BJP-led central government did not fulfil its promises regarding the Special Category Status and Bifurcation assurances. The BJP is trying to split political parties and people who are opposing the policies of the NDA government, he alleged. The NDA government is supporting Corporate instead of poor people, he criticized.

At this stage, the ruling YSRCP and opposition TDP Parliament Members and Rajya Sabha Members should raise their voices regarding Special Category Status, Bifurcation assurances, protection of the Visakha Steel Plant, Polavaram Project displaced people problems and other issues in the Parliament Sessions which will start from Thursday. After the bifurcation of the state, AP lost severely and none of the ongoing projects were completed, he pointed out. Even unemployed youth did not get any jobs and the state government is trying to pay salaries to employees, he commented.

TDP should clarify Pawan’s remarks
The Left leader condemned the Jana Sena Party chief Pavan Kalyan as he joined the NDA alliance and made remarks that his party will contest with the BJP and TDP jointly in the next elections. The opposition TDP should give a clarification to the people, he demanded. Though Pavan Kalyan announced this two days ago, TDP has not responded to it so far, he felt.

In the 2019 elections, almost all political parties announced their main agenda to bring the Special Category Status and implement bifurcation assurances, he recalled. However, neither YSRCP nor TDP could not raise their voice in Parliament, he alleged. These two parties’ surrendered to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and violated people’s verdict in the past elections, he said.

Also, he said the YSRCP and TDP are not joined in any alliance group in the country, however, they did not clarify their stands. He emphasized the need to raise the voices of MPs in Parliament sessions to be started from Thursday.
CPM State secretariat members Y Venkateswara Rao and Ch Babu Rao were present.
