delegation from the New Delhi National Defence College (NDC), led by Major General CP Sangra AVSM YSM (Retd), met Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K Vijayanand at the CS Camp Office in Vijayawada on Friday as part of their study tour. The team included representatives from the Army, Navy, Air Force, National Defence Academy (NDA), DRDO, and other defence institutions.
Chief Secretary Vijayanand briefed the delegation on the state’s developmental initiatives under the Swarnandhra 2047 Vision Plan, aligned with the national Vikasit Bharat 2047 framework. He outlined the ambitious Ten-Point Plan aimed at accelerating progress across key sectors.
Highlighting governance innovations, Vijayanand discussed the implementation of WhatsApp Governance, which has enhanced the delivery of civic services. He also detailed major infrastructure projects, including new ports, green hydrogen, and green energy ventures along Andhra Pradesh’s 970 km coastline, positioning the state as a leader in sustainable industrial growth.
Expressing confidence in the state’s economic trajectory, Vijayanand noted significant advancements in industry, services, manufacturing, and logistics, with strong central government support for key projects. He also emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s leadership in technology-driven governance, horticulture, and natural farming.
Acknowledging the invaluable role of the defence forces, Vijayanand recalled their swift assistance during natural disasters, including the Hudhud cyclone and last year’s floods in Vijayawada. He praised the Army, Navy, Air Force, and NDRF for their continued support in disaster response efforts.
Major General Sangra stated that the 16-member NDC team is visiting various parts of Andhra Pradesh to study the coordination between central and state government agencies.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena and other senior officials.
