Minister for Agriculture S Niranjan Reddy on Tuesday stressed the need to teach children to think logically.
Participating in Teachers’ Day celebrations here, he extended his greetings to teachers on the occasion of the Teachers’ Day. District Collector Tejas Nandanlal Pawar presided over the meeting. “In tune with times, there is a need to teach logic to children to mould them into good citizens. Teachers are the guiding force for students and true builders of the nation,” the Minister said. He praised Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan as a great philosopher.
Niranjan Reddy presented the best teacher awards to Sobharani, Munidramma and Murali Krishna. He also presented mementoes and shawls to 44 teachers and felicitated them.
Zilla Parishad Chairman R Loknath Reddy appealed to the teachers to discharge their duties with dedication and mould children into responsible citizens. He regretted that some schools were not up to the mark and asked the teachers to improve educational standards in their schools.
Additional Collector S Tirupati Rao, District Education Officer Govindrajulu, Municipal Chairman Gattu Yadav and others were present.
