Need to ensure quality power to consumers stressed

Telangana State Energy Department Secretary and Transco, Genco CMD Ronald Rose visited the TGNPDCL Hanmakonda corporate office in Nakkalagutta on Saturday, and conducted a meeting with directors, CGMs, and GMs.
Speaking on the occasion, Ross emphasised the importance of adopting new technologies to provide quality power supply to consumers. He urged officials to enhance their skills and capabilities, be accessible to consumers, resolve their issues, and act as a bridge between the company and the public. He called for dedication and responsibility from everyone to achieve the set targets.
CMD Karnati Varun Reddy initially presented a detailed report on the Discom, highlighting that quality supply is being provided to 67 lakh consumers across 16 circles in Telangana. He explained the operational structure, infrastructure, distribution, human resources, substations, and SCADA. Varun Reddy also detailed the new projects being undertaken, including the construction of new substations, 33 kV alternative supply lines, and the renovation of old substations.
He mentioned the launch of “Electricity Praja Vani” to address consumer issues, held every Monday at circle, division, sub-division, and section offices. Bills now feature QR codes for easier access, and substation automation is being implemented using new technology.
Later, Varun Reddy honored Ronald Ross with a memento. In-charge directors HRD B Ashok Kumar, Projects T Sadar Lal, Operations V Mohan Rao, Finance V Tirupati Reddy, CGMs K Thirumal Rao, T Madhusudhan, K Kishan, Raju Chauhan, KN Gutta, Ravindranath, GMs, Transco officials CE Pullayya, Ramkumar, SEs, and GMs participated in the event.
In the context of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit to Hanmakonda on Saturday, Energy Department Secretary and Transco, Genco CMD Ronald Ross visited the electricity guest house in Hanmakonda, Nakkalagutta. As it was his first visit after assuming office, Varun Reddy took Ross to the Nakkalagutta substation and explained the power supply system. He detailed the 220/132/33 kV power supply from Mulugu Road, 33/11 kV feeder supply, power transformer capacity, feeder load details, and SCADA.
Ross also visited the Mee Seva office opposite the college and interacted with consumers about the Gruha Jyoti scheme. He addressed the issues of those who had not benefited from the scheme due to registration errors in Praja Palana. Ross assured that Gruha Jyoti would apply to everyone and immediately corrected the details of eligible beneficiaries to ensure they received the benefits.
