Need to prepare an action plan for Restoration of OPS stressed

Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud has underlined the need to prepare an action plan to restore the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), which was withdrawn by the Centre.

He was releasing a TNGOs’ Diary after the inauguration of the TNGOs’ Bhavan here on Thursday.

Addressing the TNGOs here, the Minister recalled the role played by the employees during the movement for a separate Telangana State.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao granted better salaries and many benefits to employees. The first PRC to government employees awarded higher benefits to them, he said, adding that the Telangana government was paying the highest salaries to government employees compared to other states. In fact, the salaries being paid to the employees in the State compared to the Centre.

The Minister announced a sanction of Rs 50 lakh for adding one more floor to the newly-inaugurated TNGOs’ Bhavan and appealed to the government employees to strive for the development of Mahabubnagar.

A night jungle safari would become operational in the town from KCR eco-park to Maisamma temple, he said, adding that he and Tourism Secretary would be visiting J and K to study the hotels and other sheds to be raised in forests.

Local MP Manne Srinivas Reddy spoke. District Collector G Ravi Nayak and others were present.
