Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has promised new ration cards to the eligible after Lok Sabha elections. He made the promise during the election campaign.
As part of the Lok Sabha election campaign here on Friday, Prabhkar appealed to the electorate not to waste their vote by voting for the BRS or the BJP as these parties had done nothing for the development of the Telangana state in general and Karimnagar constituency in particular.
He said that he is ready to develop Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency.
Once the Lok Sabha elections are over, the new ration cards will be distributed, he said. The State government would fulfil its promise of waiving crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh by August 15.
He also assured the farmers that the State government will continue payment of bonus of Rs 500 per quintal of paddy. The Congress Party is always committed to the welfare of the farmers.
The BJP and BRS have been conspiring against the Congress unable to stomach its popularity, he alleged.
He exuded confidence that the Congress government will last its full term of five years.
