Nine candidates file nominations for MLC polls

As many as 49 candidates filed 72 nomination papers for the MLC graduates constituency election of West and East Godavari districts. The filing of nominations came to an end on Monday.
The scrutiny of the nominations will be held on February 11 and the last date for withdrawals of nominations is February 13.  
District Collector and election returning officer K Vetri Selvi said that 29 candidates filed their nominations for the MLC election on the last day on Monday.
The notification for the MLC election was issued on February 3 and the nomination process came to an end today. After completion of withdrawals a clear picture of how many candidates would be in the fray would emerge, the Collector said.
Perabattula Rajasekhar filed a nomination as TDP candidate for the MLC election on Monday. He filed his nomination, accompanied by Union Minister of State Bhupatiraju Srinivasa Varma, Water Resources Development Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu and Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar.
