Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday proposed the formation of three sub-groups on GDP growth, population management, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the 10th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
He suggested that these state-level sub-groups, in coordination with the Centre, could help accelerate the Viksit Bharat–2047 vision of a developed India.
“The first sub-group on GDP growth aims to boost investments, manufacturing, exports, and job creation, with support from central viability gap funding for PPP projects,” a TDP press release quoted the Chief Minister as saying.
The second sub-group would focus on population management to help India harness its demographic dividend while preparing for future challenges such as ageing and declining fertility. The third sub-group, Naidu said, should centre on technology-driven governance using AI, quantum computing, drones, and digital platforms for real-time, citizen-centric administration.
During the meeting, Naidu also presented his government’s SwarnaAndhra@2047 vision, which targets a GSDP of USD 2.4 trillion and a per capita income of USD 42,000 by 2047.
“As India approaches its centenary of independence, the Chief Minister reaffirmed Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to lead by example in driving national transformation through strong, coordinated leadership at both state and union levels,” the press note stated.
Naidu also paid tribute to the 26 victims of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and praised the Armed Forces for their swift response through ‘Operation Sindoor’.
He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership during the crisis, highlighting India’s resilience and growing self-reliance.
The CM further praised India’s economic rise under Modi’s decade-long leadership, from the world’s 10th to the fourth largest economy, with projections to soon become the third largest.
He acknowledged key national reforms such as Digital India, GST, Startup India, PM Gati Shakti, and the Jal Jeevan Mission as transformative milestones.
