Appreciating that 40 per cent of women students are in the first batch of entrepreneurs scaling ventures, which is empowering women, said Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary, while inaugurated the I-Venture Immersive (IVI) programme and the classroom specifically designed for the IVI programme at the ISB Hyderabad Campus on Friday.
This six-month I-Venture Immersive (IVI) programme at ISB Hyderabad offers entrepreneurs support and funding to develop their ideas, with a program fee of Rs 5.9 lakhs, including a six-month stay on campus.
ddressing the new class of students, Jayant Chaudhary remarked that no Minister can truly be in charge of entrepreneurship.
He noted that STEM fields are growing in India, with 13-15% of women as entrepreneurs. He announced a new scheme to scale startups is in progress, stating that a multidisciplinary approach with parallel thinking and coordination is needed.
He also highlighted that while Make in India is progressing, migration stories will play a significant role for him and will be focusing on segments of that industry.
He mentioned that three ministries are working on a scheme to upskill traditional village entrepreneurs, targeting 30 lakh people.
Discussing women entrepreneurs, Jayant said NITI Aayog is planning more initiatives, though no structural map is in place yet. However, the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) is actively working on skilling programmes.
