NITI Aayog to set up State Institute for Transformation

Niti Aayog has come forward to set up the State Institute for Transformation in Andhra Pradesh. For that, a delegation headed by Niti Aayog Additional Secretary V Radha conducted a meeting with various departments’ secretaries besides the Chief Secretary of the State at the Secretariat at Velagapudi on Tuesday.

This meeting discussed the plans for development regarding various government departments. Also, a discussion was held on Urbanisation and Industry Perspective Development City Region Concept.

Speaking on the occasion, Niti Aayog Additional Secretary V Radha said that the Niti Aayog would sanction Rs.5.28 crore to implement and get the developmental growth for two years. Besides knowledge support, the Niti Aayog would provide financial support to the state of Andhra Pradesh, she said. India would be running towards a 5 Trillion dollars financial sector in the coming days, she said.

Further, she said that the Central government was focusing on the Aspirational Blocks. Civilization plays a vital role in the country’s development, she added. For example, cities as a percentage of the country’s land area were three per cent, however, 65pc of GDP has been coming from them, she said.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Dr KS Jawahar Reddy said that Visakhapatnam is one of the four cities selected by the Central government for the development of urbanisation and industrialisation. Andhra Pradesh has a vast coastal region which will be helped for the agricultural as well as food and port development, he said.

Also, the State government is developing tourism projects, he said. In addition to this, the State government is giving top priority to health and education, he added.

AP State Planning Department Secretary Girija Sankar, Finance Department Special Chief Secretary SS Rawath, Health Chief Secretary MT Krishna Babu, Agricultural Special Chief Secretary Gopala Krishna Dwivedi, Energy Special CS Vijayanand, PR & RD Special Chief Secretary B Rajasekhar, Principal Secretaries Praveen Prakash, Jayalakshmi, N Gulzar, K Sridhar, Yuvaraj, Kantilal Dande, S Suresh Kumar and others were present.
