In a significant visit aimed at assessing the progress of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Mangalagiri, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery visited the premier healthcare institution on Friday. He was warmly received and felicitated by Dr Ahanthem Santa Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Mangalagiri.
The visit highlighted the institution’s advancements in research, education, and patient care.
As part of the tour, Colonel Shashikant Thumma, Deputy Director (Administration), gave a detailed presentation on AIIMS Mangalagiri’s achievements and ongoing developments. The presentation showcased progress in infrastructure, research capabilities, and the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.
Suman Bery visited various patient care areas to gain firsthand insight into hospital operations. His tour included the OPD registration section, where patients enrol for consultations, as well as the OPD consultation and waiting areas, which are crucial for managing patient flow and ensuring timely medical attention. He also visited the Radiation Oncology block, where advanced cancer treatment services are offered.
During the visit, the medical faculty briefed him on the range of healthcare services provided by their respective departments. Discussions focused on optimising these services to enhance patient care and medical outcomes, alongside efforts to advance medical research and strengthen educational programmes for medical students.
