‘No announcement on capital’

BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Visakhapatnam was to lay the foundation stone for nine projects and that there will be no announcement regarding the capital. He said that the PM would reach Visakhapatnam on November 11. There will be a one-hour road show from Maruti Junction near INS Dega to the Naval Dockyard from 6 pm.GVL said that the PM would proceed to INS Chola suite at the Eastern Naval Command. The programmes after 8 pm have been reserved.

“On November 12, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for nine projects and all of them are Central government projects,” said GVL.They include the modernisation of Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour at Rs 152 crore, a cold storage, AC auction hall and construction of new jetties. He said another project that was to be launched was  Vijayawada-Narsapur-Bhimavaram-Gudivada-Nidadavolu railway line development. “Fifty percent of the project cost is the State government’s share, but the amount has not been given so far,” he said.

GVL said that the development of the remaining railway lines in AP was stopped as the State government failed to give its share. At least during the presence of the PM, CM Jagan should guarantee the completion of these projects, he said.
