BJP Rajya Sabha Member Dr K. Laxman said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has no Congress DNA. He said the Congress has been against the caste census for years. Revanth should learn a lot about the Congress, he added. Countering Revanth’s press conference on Thursday, Laxman said that Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy have been shedding crocodile tears for OBCs.
He said that the Congress conducted caste census for the sake of votes. He questioned the Congress government to explain why it did not upload the caste census details in the public domain?
Laxman said the BJP-led Centre did not succumb to anybody’s pressure while deciding on the caste census. He said the Centre is going to conduct a caste census aiming at social development. However, the BJP-led centre would not conduct surveys like Congress. He said the Backward Classes and weaker sections will move forward in development.
Laxman said that the then Congress government in 2010 conducted a caste census using private agencies. However, it did not reveal details. He alleged that the then Congress government misused Rs 5000 crore for that survey.
