YSRCP legal cell president M Manohar Reddy has alleged that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s craze for campaigning had taken the lives of 11 people.

The legal cell president pointed out that poor people were called in the name of Chandraanna Kanuka, 30,000 tokens were given to the poor and only 2,000 were given.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Manohar Reddy said that there is no ban on rallies and processions of political parties as per GO No 1 and the order states political parties can conduct rallies, processions, and meetings without creating disturbances to the public. He said that the Jagan government gave permissions for the meetings of Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan and refuted allegations of Telugu Desam and Jana Sena parties. He said that the Constitution gives the right to livelihood and the right to free movement to the citizens but the TDP violated the norms and rights by conducting meetings in tiny streets.

He said that the protection of people is important to the government and recalled that during Jagan’s ‘padayatra’, the then TDP government and then DGP imposed many restrictions and Naidu had forgotten those days and is spreading false propaganda in the name of ‘Save Democracy’. He claimed that Jagan and YSRC leaders followed the norms and rules but now TDP leaders are playing with the lives of the public.

Manohar Reddy claimed that the government had clearly stated in GO No 1 that permissions should be taken and meetings and rallies should be held in a manner that does not cause any trouble to anyone. He alleged that Opposition parties are portraying a non-existent prohibition. He said that it is not right for a section of the press and TV channels supporting Telugu Desam to ignore the fact that there is no ban on meetings and rallies.

Manohar Reddy defended that the Government has given permission to Pawan Kalyan and Chandrababu Naidu programmes and meetings which shows no trouble to the opposition due to GO No1. He felt that still, the opposition parties are talking in a way that they will hold meetings only in narrow streets without saying that they will act responsibly which is severely objectionable. He held Chandrababu Naidu responsible for the deaths of innocent people in Kandukur and Guntur. He flayed that there were no huge gatherings in Naidu’s meeting at Kuppam hence TDP used video footage of Siddalinga Swami’s funeral procession in Karnataka to mislead the public.
