Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to eliminate the need for citizens to physically visit government offices by ensuring seamless delivery of all public services through the “Mana Mitra” WhatsApp Governance platform. This directive was issued during a review meeting on the operations of the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) held at the State Secretariat on Monday.
Emphasising convenience and accessibility, the Chief Minister called for a massive public awareness campaign to inform citizens about the range of services available through WhatsApp. He instructed departments to align their operations with the goals of digital service delivery and urged an accelerated rollout of data lake projects. He also encouraged greater use of drone-based public services, especially for municipal sanitation and mosquito control.
Naidu advised officials to identify and promote various use cases for drone technology and to conduct a workshop involving service providers and government departments to enhance awareness and train staff.
Stressing the importance of remote employment, the Chief Minister pushed for swift implementation of the Work-from-Home (WFH) initiative. He recommended a structured promotional strategy, a comprehensive assessment of job opportunities over the next three years, and the provision of skill development training. He also suggested engaging a consultancy, if necessary, to support this initiative.
RTGS Secretary Bhaskar Katamneni informed the Chief Minister that development of the Data Lake is nearing completion. He reported that 273 government services are currently being delivered through WhatsApp Governance, with a target of increasing this to 370–380 by 12 June.
RTGS is also setting up an Awareness Hub to monitor weather changes in real-time and issue timely alerts. Citizens will soon receive region-specific updates on lightning, rainfall, and temperature. An AI-powered Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) is being developed to send early warnings, such as lightning alerts, up to an hour in advance, directly to mobile phones.
Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, the CM’s Advisors Muddada Ravichandra and Pradyumna, Information Commissioner Himanshu Shukla, Revenue Secretary Prabhakar Reddy, RTGS CEO Prakhar Jain, and Deputy CEO M. Madhuri were among those present.
